After meeting the local guide, you will be led to the Pharmacy Museum, where you will join an interesting excursion about numerous kinds of healings using nature gifts. The Pharmacy Museum was founded in 1987 and is set up in a dwelling house, which is an 18th century architectural monument. The museum holds an exhibition that is devoted to the pharmacy laboratory and traditional healing methods. Documents and books from the 17th- 19th century, the tools and containers of an pharmacist, signatures, pill shapes and devices for preparing drugs, as well as drugs that were manufactured in Latvia in the 20 - 30ties of the 20th century are on display at the museum. During this excursion you will participate in a show performing huge collection of various herbs and ways to prepare them for any needs, starting from health to sexuality. The alchemist and cheerful guides who are also passionate herbalists will make this excursion more interesting with stories, legends and rituals for spirit purification. Afterwards you will head to the Sun Museum, which history started with a small sun brought from Portugal. The owner of this warm and sunny museum, Iveta Grazule, has a passion of collecting different sun shaped objects. She opened the museum to show the world her impressive exposition and to improve that the Sun has so many faces. It is the only museum in Europe introducing different interpretations of the Sun among different nations.
